Urge Congress To Invest In Research For New Treatments for Mental Illness

Author: Jessica W. Hart - 6/8/2015

Contact your member of Congress today and urge them to cosponsor the 21st Century Cures Act (HR 6). This bipartisan legislation advances the development of new treatments for a broad range of illnesses—including mental illness.

Investing in research holds great promise in building better lives for the millions impacted by mental illness.

This cannot wait, their future depends on it.

The 21st Century Cures Act will:

  • Invest $10 billion in new funding for biomedical research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)—including the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)—over the next 5 years.
  • Promote patient-focused medication development.
  • Streamline clinical trials and speed up development of new treatments—including for conditions like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Urge Your Member of Congress to Act Today.
