Note: no bylaws amendments or resolutions were submitted this year. Delegates casting ballots in the 2009 election will be voting on board candidates only.
Affiliates in good standing (those who have paid dues by 90 days prior to the Annual Meeting) and chartered State Organizations may cast votes in NAMI elections. Each group may vote absentee or appoint a delegate or proxy to vote on its behalf. Individual NAMI members do not vote directly in NAMI National elections.
Absentee Voting: Delegates who wish to vote absentee may do so via official ballots that will be sent to each Affiliate and State Organization in May 2009.
Candidate Speeches: Convention attendees are invited to hear the candidates' speeches on Tuesday, July 7, 2009.
State Caucuses: States will hold caucuses on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, to discuss candidates and other issues of concern. Caucus room assignments and times will be listed in the Convention Program for those state organizations that pre-register. For more information about your state caucus, contact your state organization.
Voting on Site: Voting will take place on Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Convention programs will include a map with the voting area clearly marked. Eligibile delegates/proxies may vote between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. All ballots must be returned to the ballot box by 6:00 p.m. Only authorized delegates or proxies may cast ballots. Affiliate groups or state organizations that do not return voting credentials to NAMI National by July 3, 2009 will be subject to onsite review. Learn more about the 2009 Convention.
Election Results: Results of the election will be reported at the NAMI Business Meeting on Thursday, July 9, 2009. Results will also be posted on www.nami.org/voting.
