Day Two: Opening Plenary & American Indian and Alaska Native Mental Healthcare SymposiumThe NAMI 2003 Annual Convention's Opening Plenary, Confronting the Mental Health Crisis in America: 2003 addressed the finding of the Report of the President’s New Freedom Commission, presented by the Commission's Chair, Mike Hogan. NAMI national also hosted the American Indian Mental Healthcare Symposium which explored the importance of quality mental healthcare services for American Indians and other Native Americans.
Other Sunday highlights included: a series of seminars by the NAMI Leadership Institute, State Caucas meetings, the opening of the NAMILAND exhibit hall, and an evening of open-mic entertainment.
