Workshop Proposals

The deadline for submission of proposals was DECEMBER 15, 2008. Proposals received after this date and incomplete proposals will not be reviewed by the NAMI Annual Convention Committee or the CLD Team.

The 2009 Convention and Leadership Institute is scheduled for July 6-9 at the San Francisco Hilton and Towers. The NAMI National Convention draws some 2,500 people whose lives are affected by mental illness, including family members, consumers, treatment professionals, public and private policymakers, educators, advocates, and others – all focused on improving the lives of people who live with mental illnesses.

The Leadership Institute will be held on Monday afternoon, July 6. It offers leadership and organizational development sessions to assist NAMI State Organizations and State Affiliates meet the NAMI mission. The Institute is developed and managed by NAMI’s Center for Leadership Development (CLD). Topics of special interest to the CLD include organizational capacity building, board development, program development and evaluation, outreach and inclusion, fundraising, and best practices in nonprofit management. Workshops will be one hour in length, and must include action steps for replicating best practices in the field.

You will receive a decision on your proposal by February 15, 2009.
