Welcome to NAMI Geauga County

in Geauga County, Ohio.

On June 18th we will hear Dr. Penny Frese speak on

advocacy for those with a mental

health diagnosis. This meeting will take place at a different

site than our usual location.  Dr. Frese will speak at the

Geauga Parks' West Woods Nature Center, south off

Rt. 87 east of Rt 306 and west of Auburn Rd. at 7pm

Light refreshments will be available.

  • Support Group Meetings

Our Chardon Support Group meetings are held on the first Thursday

of each month. We meet at 7:00 p.m. at:

Our Middlefield Support Group meetings are held on the second

Wednesday of each month at the Middlefield Public Library.

In May we will add a Caregiver Support Group on the second

Thursday of May.  This group will meet at 13244 Ravenna Rd Chardon,

Ohio 44024 on the second Thursday of each month at 7pm.

  • Educational Speaker Meetings

On the third Thursday of each month we invite a speaker to address our group

on mental health topics.  We meet at 7:00 p.m. at:

  •  Peer Connections

NAMI Connections, a peer Support Group Program, is a 90-minute support group

run by persons who live with mental illness. The program includes NAMI trained peer

facilitators and employs principles of support designed to empower its members.

This program focuses on allowing all participants to share their experiences and

learn from each other in a safe and confidential environment. NAMI Connections

is not illness-specific, and welcomes persons with all psychiatric diagnoses.

NAMI Geauga's Connections group meets from 1:30 to 3:00pm on the

2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month  The Murray Center,

208 N. Hambden St., Chardon OH  (just east of the city square) on rt. 6)

  •  Membership Meetings

Our membership meetings are business meetings open to the public and

are held on the 4th Thursday of each month at:

  • Family to Family Class

On January 17th, 2009 we began our  Winter session of Family to Family Class. 

This class offers education and support to family members and friends

who have a loved one diagnosed with a mental condition.

The course and all materials are free. Registration is required.

The class meets for 12 weeks  from 1:00 to 3:30pm,

at 13244 Ravenna Rd. Chardon, OH 44024 (the Geauga Board of

Mental Health and Recovery Services - across from UHHS Geauga Hospital)

Family to Family classes are  open to all who

have a family member or loved one suffering with a mental illness.

like to be added to our next class. Classes fill fast. 


  • Hand to Hand

Hand-to-Hand classes are for parents of children diagnosed with a

mental disorder, including (but not restricted to) ADD and ADHD.

Classes are held for 9 weeks at the Geauga Board of Mental Health

and Recovery Services, 13244 Ravenna Rd. Chardon, OH 44024.

Hand-to-Hand classes are  open to all who

have a child struggling with a mental/emotional illness.
