Welcome to the Clackamas County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. (NAMI-CC). Nationally, we are a grassroots family support group founded in 1979 currently having over 225,000 members.
There are over 22 local affiliates in Oregon and a state NAMI-Oregon office in Salem.

Our local motto is "Help and Hope for persons with mental illness and their families."

Following the NAMI NATIONAL  guidelines, we have three major goals:

Support : Personal sharing and empathy on a one to one basis on the phone and at our monthly support meetings(click on support tab for details).

Education: Excellent and free opportunities for you to learn about mental
illness, gain coping skills and find hope (click on education tab for
details).

6th. Annual NAMI Walk -will be  held Sunday May 17th. 2009 at 1:00 pm at the East Esplanade, under the Hawthorne bridge.

Advocacy: Opportunities to advocate for changes that will improve the
quality of life for our ill loved ones, including dispelling stigma and
promoting the fact that mental illness is a physical disorder and is
