Welcome to the Eau Claire area NAMI site

Welcome to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Eau Claire Area (NAMI ECA) website.  We are excited to offer this opportunity to the community and members of our organization. The NAMI ECA affiliate began in 1983, just three years after the NAMI organization was founded in Madison, Wisconsin.  We are now a national organization serving more than 200,000 individuals.

Anyone can have a mental illness, regardless of age, gender, race or income.  One in five adults has a diagnosable mental disorder, although mental illness can occur at any age, but most often appears for the first time between the ages of 25 and 44.  Nearly two-thirds of all people with a diagnosable mental illness do not seek treatment.

With proper treatment, individuals can return to normal, productive lives.  With the help and support of family and friends and organizations such as NAMI, we can make a difference in people’s lives.

Please feel free to explore the site at your leisure and direct any suggestions or thoughts regarding the site to namieauclairearea@yahoo.com
