              NAMI Cape Cod 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Thank you to NAMI Cape Cod, The Board of Directors, to the wonderful Golf Tournament Planning Committee, Volunteers, and anyone else who made this event a success—without any of you our 1^st Annual Charity Golf Tournament would not have transpired nor been the success that it was! We should be proud that all the net proceeds  go directly to NAMI Cape Cod for important programs, services, education, and outreach. Congratulations to all involved! Most importantly, this tournament got the word out about NAMI Cape Cod—who we are, what we do, and how we can help!

To the Board…

Fulfilling a dream and/or goal comes from an initial vision, passion and a plan to make something happen for a cause, whatever cause that may be. Well, I had a vision for NAMI Cape Cod to hold a fundraising event that would raise enough funds to restore, maintain, and implement new programs and services locally as well as to educate about NAMI Cape Cod and to advocate on behalf of NAMI Cape Cod. I also have a passion for golf. I feel it is a sport that brings people together on varying levels. Therefore, I thought it most fitting to have a golf tournament to raise money and awareness on behalf of NAMI Cape Cod. In addition, I feel this tournament allowed people to “just be” in the moment and to have a day of fun. I truly feel that for many, Friday, October 2, 2009, was a day of just that—having fun, connecting with special people, and just letting go and “getting away from it all” for a day.            Kerry Arnett
