Children & Youth Mental Health Forum (view Flyer)
Saturday, May 18

  • Hear an overview of the mental health legislation that passed in this legislative session and what work still needs to be done.
  • Learn from panel discussions on Mental Health First Aid for Youth, a new program providing education for parents and those who work with children.
  • Discover what MH services are available for children and youth at local Community Services Boards (CSBs), and discuss what is needed.

Date: Saturday, May 18
Time: 11:30 a.m. Meet and greet. Light snacks provided. 12—2 p.m. Forum and panel discussions
Location: Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

NAMI Northern Virginia's Annual Dinner and Meeting
Presentation:  Peter and Tiffany will share their stories of hope and recovery.  Peter is co-facilitator of our Young Adult Peer-to-Peer class.  Tiffany works for a non-profit organization in Washington, DC and is one of our NAMI-trained "In Our Own Voice" speakers.

Date:  Thursday, May 23rd
Time:  6:30-9:00pm
Who:  NAMI Northern Virginia members, volunteers and community members (open to the public)
Location:  First Christian Church, Falls Church (use regular directions since same location as speaker's meetings)

Suggested donation  $20 (Regular)  OR  $3 (Open Door)

Please NOTE:  There will be no regular Speaker's Meeting in May; Speaker's Meetings will resume in September on the 4th Monday of each month.  Check back here for more information on upcoming speakers and other events!
