Free Classes for Families

New Class for Parents and Caregivers

NAMIFC will soon offer a new class for parents and caregivers of minor children who have a mental illness. NAMI Basics, which replaces Hand-to-Hand, aims to:

  • Give the parent or caregiver the basic information necessary to take the best care possible of their child and family.
  • Let the parent or caregiver cope with the impact that mental illness has on the child living with the illness and the entire family.
  • Provide tools for the parent or caregiver to use even after completing the program that will assist in making the best decisions possible for the care of the child.

We look forward to holding our first NAMI Basics class in early 2010!

Go to the NAMI Basics page for more information and to watch a video about childhood mental illnesses.
