We are the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Collin County, Texas. Collin County's affiliate to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and the Texas State affiliate (NAMITX).

Join NAMI Collin County and help in the fight against mental illness

When you join NAMICCO you also get membership in Nami Texas and the NAMI national organizations.

You get eligibility to vote in all NAMI elections.

You get a subscription to “The Advocate”, NAMI’s quarterly magazine, as well as access to optional subscriptions to specialty newsletters and information at national, state, and local levels.

Member discounts on brochures, videos, promotional items, and registration at NAMI’s annual convention and many state and local conferences.

Access to exclusive members-only material on www.nami.org

You get the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting the educational programs of NAMI, the phone line and web site that provides support and education for families and consumers, and the advocacy efforts of NAMICCO to improve the funding for services for persons with mental illness.

Membership dues are $35.00 for individuals, $3.00 for consumers with limited income and $100.00 for organizations.

You can join NAMICCO or renew your NAMICCO membership with your credit card using PayPal by clicking on the Donate button below. Be sure to enter the amount of your donation and click on update total, then fill in the credit card information. Now click on review donation and continue and then click on "Click Here to Enter Information" to enter your name and address, what the donation is for and any other information you may want to give. PayPal will send a receipt by email. You can also use this button for making other donations to NAMICCO. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated. Almost all of our funding comes from your donations.

NAMI Connection New Day and Time

NAMI Collin County announces a recovery support group for adults living with mental illness regardless of their diagnosis. Every group is offered free of charge and meets weekly for 90 minutes. All are led by trained individuals who are also in recovery - people who understand the challenges we face.

ANOTHER FAMILY-TO-FAMILY CLASS TO BE OFFERED

Family to Family classes provide educational information to family members and friends of adults with Mental Illness on: brain biology of mental illnesses, treatments for these illnesses; explanations about signs and symptoms of each mental illness; ideas for problem-solving, empowerment, advocacy, communication and coping skills.  These classes are FREE.

The fall classes this year are September 12-November 21 [12 classes], 9a.m.-11:30a.m., at CusterRoad United Methodist Church [SE end, lower level—turn right to room B1], 6601 Custer Road, Plano, TX

The next meeting of NAMI Collin County will meet on Nobember 12, 2009

Linda Denke will be our speaker. Her topic is “Wellness” with special emphasis on how caretakers can take care of themselves.

There a family and a consumer support group prior to this meeting from 6:30-7:20 p.m. For more information on support groups, visit the Support Groups link on the menu to your upper left.

 The Board of Directors meets the third Tuesday of each month from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Custer Road United Methodist Church.
