Some people say that depression feels like a black curtain of despair coming down over their lives. Many people feel like they have no energy and can't concentrate. Others feel irritable all the time for no apparent reason. The symptoms vary from person to person, but interfering with your daily life, you may be clinically depressed.

Of the estimated 17.5 million Americans who are affected by some form of depression, 9.2 million have major or clinical depression.

NAMI of Ellis County is indeed grateful to Beverly Worthington for being the model to depict depression. Beverly Worthington has been a special person to so many organizations and individuals in Ellis County. She has given of herself to help so many individuals and organizations for many years. She has had leadership rolls in the YMCA, Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, Gingerbread Trail, and many other projects that are to numerous to list. Her dedication to her children, and her husband, Roy, during his years with Alzheimer's set an example for all of us. All of us have been blessed to know this special person, who we all hold dear to our hearts. Beverly, once again, thanks again for helping others.
