NAMI San Gabriel Valley 's History
NAMI San Gabriel Valley is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization and an affiliate of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and NAMI California.
NAMI San Gabriel Valley conducts meetings and provides distinguished speakers discussing topics such as: schizophrenia research, new medications, state legislation, financial planning for families with a disabled member, early diagnosis and intervention, public and other community mental health services.
NAMI San Gabriel Valley organizes care and share support groups for concerned individuals and family members. NAMI provides education for interested individuals, loved ones, family, and recovering clients. NAMI is actively advocating for legislative issues and within the criminal justice arena. Front Line is a support offering, some education and resources for military families and Vets. Spanish speaking support groups are also available.
NAMI San Gabriel Valley publishes a newsletter with the latest local, state and national news.
NAMI San Gabriel Valley shines a light on stigma attached to mental illness and works to educate the public, challenge negative stereotypes and confront discrimination.
