We offer mutual support, education about mental illness and advocate for needed services.
Members primarily come from Polk, Dallas, Madison, and Warren counties.

NAMI Greater Des Moines dues cover 3 levels of membership – Local (GDM), State and National.  You can find value in a membership with our organization in the following ways:

ü       Educational meetings - each month has a different topic
ü       Business meetings - we discuss the following:
                      Business        Support        Fundraising        Special Events
                      Advocacy       Education        Marketing and Membership
ü       Support group meetings
ü       Educational classes
ü       Speakers are available to talk to your group or organization.
ü       We have committees and other venues for volunteer opportunities.
ü       NAMI Greater Des Moines newsletter is published monthly.

                   NAMI National publishes the NAMI Advocate magazine quarterly.
ü       Access to a multitude of information through our website.
ü       An opportunity to help raise funds through NAMI Walks.

NAMI Greater Des Moines is a non-profit 501c3 tax exempt organization.  Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws were filed October 2, 2003 with the Secretary of State. IRS tax exemption was given June 3, 2004.

Dues and donations are tax deductible as a charitable contribution.
