NAMI stands for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Our mission is is to champion justice, dignity, and respect for all people affected by mental illness (biological brain disorders). Through education, advocacy, and support, we strive to eliminate the pervasive stigma of mental illness, effect positive changes in the mental health system, and increase the public and professional understanding of mental illness.

NAMI Winona offers education, support and advocacy to people living with mental illnesses and their families in Winona. NAMI Winona is a local affiliate of NAMI Minnesota and the national organization, NAMI.
