NAMI DKK - Who We Are

Concerned members of DeKalb, Kane South and Kendall Counties

NAMI DKK started as a group of family members concerned about their loved ones and has now expanded to include all members of our local community who wish to support those affected by mental illness. We invite you to check our calendar for NAMI DKK general meetings, support groups and education programs and to sign up for our monthly email newsletter.

In the early 1990's, a small group of parents from the Geneva area started meeting with each other to discuss common concerns regarding mental illness. These parents were looking for support and information after their children were diagnosed with a mental illness. This small group became the nucleus of NAMI DKK, which incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 1993.

NAMI DKK has grown to become a strong affiliate whose goal is to provide support, education and advocacy to all those affected by mental illness. Although we first met in temporary locations around the area, we now have offices at 400 Mercy Lane in Aurora.
