VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:


Surplus Furniture:NAMI has access to a warehouse to store good donated furniture to be given to MH clients wishing to furnish their new apartments. To donate or request, call the NAMI office at 503-723-4989

Assist Education Coordinator with newsletter-writing, layout (use Publisher 2000), proofreading, folding. Take calls for class enrollment for Family-to-Family  (3X per year). Call Judy @503-632-4453.

Family-to-Family teacher trainees Graduates of F2F are encouraged to apply for the free educator training. Classes held periodically. Contact NAMI office at 503-723-4989 or Judy @ 503-632-4453.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Brochure Runners needed to replace NAMI-CC brochures in holders throughout the community. Sign up for one or more locations near your home. Set your own hours. Leave your name and number at the NAMI office 503-723-4989.

Employers Wanted-Working for Independence, Clackamas County’s job skills training and employment program for individuals managing a mental illness is seeking local employers interested in hiring from this labor pool. Call Bruce Mack at 503-502-2346 to learn more about how this service can help you business.

NAMI-CC Office Receptionists answer phone and e-mails at the NAMI-CC office, 146 Molalla Ave. in Oregon city. Training and resource notebook for referring callers to appropriate assistance provided. Three-hours, once per week (9-12 am or 12-3 pm). Call 503-723-4989.

County Fair Booth Cordinators and Staffers for  August 2009 at the Canby Fairgrounds. Free Fair and parking tickets. Pass out literature and be available to field questions about NAMI. Leave your name and number at the NAMI office 503-723-4989.

POSH Storekeeper/clothing donations- Portland-Oregon State Hospital. Staff the Corner Store 12:30-3:30 pm once or twice a month selling snack and gift items to patients and staff. Donate and help sort used clothing. Contact Morene Condon @503-786-8996.

Furniture and small applianceappliances needed for consumers moving into apartment houses and group homes. Only good furniture accepted. Consider buying new items and donating. Call NAMI office @ 503-723-4989 Also need MEN and TRUCKS to help move!
