About NAMI West Houston

NAMI West Houston is a local affiliate of The National Alliance on Mental Illness, a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of individuals with mental illness and their families. Serving families in Katy and West Houston, including Memorial, Alief, Spring Branch, Bear Creek and CyFair areas, NAMI West Houston provides unique support groups for recovering individuals, for parents/caregivers of children and teens, as well as for families and friends of adults with mental illness. Monthly speaker meetings and free education classes are designed to help individuals and families understand how to cope with mental illness and begin the process of recovery.

NAMI West Houston  has been active in Harris County, Texas, since 1989.

NAMI West Houston also is affiliated with NAMI Texas, our state-wide organization that represents an important link by implementing and integrating services and policies determined at the state level.

Our national affiliation with NAMI enables us to speak with a powerful and unified voice on a national level, with over 1,400 chapters in every state and over 210,000 members. When families and individuals that are recovering from mental illness stand together, we show the public the realities associated with brain disorders as no one else can. NAMI members know the power of a united voice - a voice strengthened by families and amplified by those who know the challenges first-hand. As a member of NAMI West Houston you will receive newsletters and educational information on advocacy, support and research from local, state and national levels. Join us in our mission to provide hope, help and support. United we can change the future.
