About NAMI

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the nation's largest grassroots mental
health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental
illness and their families. Founded in 1979, NAMI has become the nation's voice on
mental illness, a national organization including NAMI affiliates in every state and
in over 1200 local communities across the country who join together to meet the NAMI
mission through advocacy, research, support and education.

 

About NAMI Greater Cleveland (NAMI GC)

NAMI GC is a local affiliate of NAMI  with approximately 800 consumer, family,
professional and organizational members. We provide services to those with serious
mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, clinical depression and anxiety
disorders and their family members through a variety of support and education programs,
including information and referral, support groups, and family and consumer education
courses. Volunteer consumers and family members provide almost all of the services
at NAMI GC.
