NAMIWalks Northern Virginia
"Catch the Wave" with NAMI Northern Virginia!
Join the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Northern Virginia at our annual Saturday morning Walk on September 28th, 2013!
WHY walk? Your participation makes possible our unique support and education programs for individuals, families, teachers, students, police officers, and others in Fairfax, Falls Church, Arlington, Alexandria, and Loudoun.
This year's "Catch the Wave" theme will provide a fun-filled day at the "beach" right here at the Fairfax County Government Center. This family and community event will be filled with music, activities, and entertainment!
Walkers and sponsors help give hope! One NAMI Northern Virginia program participant said, “There is a great dynamic in being with people who are living through the same situation as yourself. When coupled with all the genuinely useful information that NAMI has compiled…it is a life-changing experience.”
More than ever your support is needed. Participation in our programs has more than doubled in the past 3 years, but we still have waitlists for many of our programs. We want to be able to fulfill all of our requests for our community education presentations, including “Family to Family” and “In Our Own Voice.” You can make the difference in making sure we can continue to expand these unique and in-demand resources in our community.
Together we can turn the tide!
