Red Flags Idaho
Red Flags Idaho is a program designed to help parents identify emotional and behavioral problems in School age children and youth, and get the help the family needs to remain self-reliant.
The program is provided by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Idaho Chapter, in cooperation with the Idaho State University, Institute for Rural Health. Funding for the project is provided by the Idaho Governor's Generation of the Child Initiative
Why Red Flags Idaho?
Too often, the emotional and behavioral problems of a teen can destabilize the family and put all members at risk financially and as a family unit. Red Flags Idaho is designed to help parents avoid these risks. This program shows anyone who cares about our children and youth the signs and symptoms of mental illness in children – and gives them the tools to get the help a child needs.
Since Columbine, many parents and educators have asked what they can do to avoid a disaster. While there is no insurance against such a tragedy, Red Flags Idaho is part of the toolkit for parents and educators alike. Learning signs and symptoms of mental illness opens the door for greater understanding and helps ensure youths get the help they need, when they need it.
