 NAMI BASICS

NAMI Basics is the new signature education program for parents and other caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illnesses. The NAMI Basics course is taught by trained teachers who are the parents or other caregivers of individuals who developed the symptoms of mental illness prior

to the age of 18 years.

There is no charge for this class. All instruction materials are FREE to participants, parents/caregivers of children and adolescents with mental illness.

 

Classes include

· Introduction - it's not your fault

· The biology of mental illness

· Treatment works

· Problem solving skills

· How to work within systems

 (school, juvenile justice, mental health)

· Shared stories
