Bonnie Kinschner - NAMI Western Carolina

Bonnie is married to Bill Kinschner; and is the mother of two married daughters and grandmother to Nathan and Rachel. She has a BA from the University of Toledo (Ohio) and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Winebrenner Seminary in Findlay, Ohio. Immediately before retirement, Bonnie served as Director of The Lay Academy for Mission for the Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. The Lay Academy's focus was to train lay people for all areas of ministry some topics were small group development, evangelism, leadership development, as well as spiritual formation and discipleship. She also served as the first Director of Small Group Ministry at Hope Lutheran Church in Toledo, Ohio.

For over 20 years, Bonnie has written, developed and lead workshops, retreats, seminars and Bible studies. Since 2010, Bonnie has been leading conferences for Romanian women in Alpinis, Romania on leadership development. She has served on ministry teams focusing on prayer, healing, spiritual formation, small groups, spiritual leadership development, and mental illness ministry. In May 2009, she received her designation as a trained Spiritual Director from the Dominican Center of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bonnie and her family have created One Mind Mental Illness Ministry (www.onemindmentalillnessministry.com), which works to develop and nurture the faith-based component of healing for those with mental illness in the MINDS and hearts of all people.
