In the Winter and Spring of 2009 the affiliate along with Ledyard High School held an essay contest titled "Breaking the Silence of Mental Illness."

We had over 40 entries, all well written.  A panel of 4 distinguished jusges read and judged them.  On May 20, 2009 the winners and thir families came to an affiliate meeting to present their essay's and recieve their prizes.  Pictures are below.
