Connections, a NAMI Danville sponsored support group, will continue to meet on the first and third Thursdays of every month. Upcoming meetings are scheduled for March 15, April 5, and April 19.

Be on the lookout for our newsletter hitting mailboxes in early April - if you or someone you know would like to be on our mailing list, please contact us at for more details.

May is Mental Health Month and NAMI Danville will be kicking it off with our annual Clergy Breakfast/Workshop on Friday, April 27. This event will be held in the McDowell Conference Room at Ephriam McDowell Hospital from 8 to 10 a.m. We are working to make this our best event thus far! Hand-in-hand participation from the faith community will be instrumental in helping NAMI break down the wall of stigma of mental illness in our community.

Local author Russell Vassallo will speak on how writing brought him out of depression and his journey on the 8th of May. This event will be held at the Danville Community Center for the Arts and will begin at 7 p.m. Watch our website and newsletter for more information!

NAMI Danville is excited to announce a new effort at support and education which will be coming to our chapter soon. In late April, staff member Susan Updike will be attending a workshop in Northern KY on a NAMI-sponsored family support group. Susan and Lois hope to institute this program right here in Danville in the coming months.
