Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  What is the NAMI Housing Fund and the Friends of NAMI Fund?

A:  They are designated funds administered by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry for NAMI of Beaufort County.  For more information on the individual funds click DONATE or call the Foundation at (843) 681-9100.  You can also call the NAMI office at (843) 681-2200 for more info.

 

Q:  What is the Consumer Council?

A:  The Consumer Council exists to raise awareness of mental illness, promote recovery and meets to empower themselves.  Be a part of it!  Bring Amy Nolde (843) 842-1081 or Joann Binkley (843) 686-5785 your questions if you are a consumer and let's see if we can find some answers together.  The Consumer Council will be meeting the third Friday of each month at the NAMI office on Hilton Head for a series of presentations and fundraising events.  Check the Calendar or Newsletter for more information.

 

Q:  What do I do if I have an idea for a program for one of the NAMI meetings?

A:  Parity is having the same medical insurance coverage for mental illness as is given physical illnesses.
