Family-to-Family Education Course

The NAMI Family-to-Family (FtF) Education Program is a free 12-week course for family members of and caregivers for individuals with severe brain disorder (mental illnesses).  The course is taught by trained family members.

The FtF curriculum focuses on Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder (Manic Depression), Clinical Depression, Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Schizo-Affective Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder.    The course discusses the clinical treatment of these illnesses and teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively. These classes involve up to 25 family members and two specially trained family members who teach a consecutive 12-week educational program involving a two and one half-hour class taught weekly.

The next FtF class is tentatively scheduled for September, 2009.  Please check back here again as that date approaches for a more accurate starting date.  For more information, call 661-951-1757.
