A FREE FAMILY EDUCATION PROGRAM

The twelve sessions free NAMI FAMILY-TO-FAMILY Education Program is presented by a team of NAMI-SGV volunteer specially trained family members up to two times a year. Classes meet weekly. You must be at least fourteen and have a mentally ill relative or significant other to qualify. NAMI membership is not required.

The program provides education about major mental illnesses, medications and the brain, and skills training in communicating, problem solving, empathy and self-care. It provides support through networking with others who have mentally ill loved ones, and offers resource options in the community. Understand more about how to live with mental illness in someone you love and how to better support both them and yourself. Family members are their ill loved one's most important resource. Education and support are your tools.

Inquire and pre-register now for the next available class by telephoning the NAMI San Gabriel Valley office at (626) 577-6697.

Leah Sullivan, NAMI San Gabriel Valley Family-To-Family Program Coordinator
