GRRL TALK: Sass, Wit, and Wisdom from the Austin WriterGrrls

Austin WriterGrrls have generously donated ALL the proceeds from the sale of their book to NAMI Austin.

Joined by their reverence for the written word, the Austin WriterGrrls, a local group of women writers, have ripped apart the curtains to show a kaleidoscope of women’s lives: the sassy and irreverent, the fun and absurd, the poignant and passionate.

Daughters, sisters, mothers, lovers, and muses will see their faces in this anthology, GRRL TALK: Sass, Wit, and Wisdom from the Austin WriterGrrls, an eclectic collection of essays, short stories, and poetry.

Edited by Julie Sucha Anderson, E. S. Carlson, and Kimberly Cockrill Pflaum, the book is dedicated to Ruthe Lewin Winegarten (1929–2004), champion of women’s history and beloved Austin WriterGrrl, who sadly lost her fight with severe depression.

Books are available online now. Although you can find the book on Amazon and Barnes and Noble at the large online booksellers, we recommend you order it from the source at: Lulu. By purchasing online at Lulu, you'll spend less for your book and contribute more to NAMI Austin, the chosen charity for the proceeds of this book.

The Grrl Talk writers will be featured at the Writer’s League of Texas meeting on February 15, 2007 at 7 pm at the Barnes and Noble store in Westlake. A group of Grrl Talk writers will read their pieces salon-style with a Q&A session following. Readers will include Beth Carlson, Robin Bradford, Cindy Huyser, Kimber Phlaum, Carolyn Scarborough, Julie Anderson, and Debbie Winegarten, reading her mom’s piece.
