Annual Holiday Dinner and presentation of the Bill Uhlhorn Award

Every December, NAMI Lane County holds an annual holiday dinner. In addition to wonderful food and company, NAMI presents special awards.

The Bill Uhlhorn Award is the most prestigious recognition from NAMI Lane County, honoring the person or organization which has performed a meritorious service in educating about mental illness and the eradication of stigma.

Our previous NAMI Holiday Dinner was held Tuesday, December 4, 2012

We had a good meal, fellowship, awards, and the chance to hear our invited speaker, Julie Fast .

Julie Fast is a well-known Portland author and mental health advocate. Her books include: Take Charge of Your Bipolar Disorder and The Health Cards System for Bipolar Disorder. In addition, State Representative Val Hoyle was on hand to give an update on the Oregon state hospital in Junction City.

Give the resource center a call in early November to get the details about the next Holiday Dinner celebration.
