Services offered by NAMI Mississippi:

Support-- There are affiliates and support groups throughout the state where you can meet with others to share information and learn to cope. People who participate in our organization learn that they do not have to struggle alone, and that they are not to blame for their illnesses or that of a loved one.

Education-- NAMI Mississippi works to foster greater public awareness of serious mental illness and to overcome stigma and misconceptions that are associated with mental illness. We work to educate families, individuals with mental illness (consumers), professionals and the general public. Our educational efforts include our annual state conference, quarterly state newsletters, public speaking engagements, presentations at conferences, and health fairs, in addition to our free education classes. For more information about the free classes, or classes scheduled in your area, please click on the "education" link or call the NAMI Mississippi office 601-899-9058, 1-800-357-0388

Advocacy-- NAMI Mississippi advocates at both the state and local levels to protect the rights and promote the welfare of people with mental illness and their loved ones.  Our goal is to ensure quality services and continuity of care.

Resource Library-- NAMI Mississippi's office in Jackson offers a library of videos, books and other materials available for "check out" to members and others seeking information. Brochures are also available at the office, and can be sent to anyone, anywhere in the state. Please contact 601-899-9058 (toll-free 800-357-0388) stateoffice@namims.org for more information.
