NAMI Lane County recently held a training for clients/consumers to become presenters for In Our Own Voice. These people, who have personal experience with mental illness, will share their own perspectives in a program that may include readings, visual displays, and questions. They are prepared to accept invitations in the community to help the audience become aware about what is involved in recovery from mental illness.

The program will create a powerful anti-stigma tool to change hearts, minds and attitudes about mental illness. People who watch the program will see living proof that recovery from mental illness is an on-going reality.
