The NAMI library is a great resource consisting of books, video tapes and audio tapes providing information on a wide range of diagnoses from the perspective of consumers, family members and care givers. There are also many volumes addressing parenting and self help. The research section contains books addressing systemic and governmental issues as well as organizational “how to” volumes.
There are two sections to the library---the lending part where books and tapes can be checked out for reading and viewing at home, and the reference section, where books may be read here and tapes viewed in the library. All books are arranged by specific topic and we are in the process of identifying tapes in a similar manner.
The library will be open during NAMI office hours, weekdays from 11am-3pm. Materials may be accessed by NAMI members, CVAB participants and all associated with the Wellness Project.
