March Wednesday Meetings

Wednesday meetings are at Mather Hospital Rooms Two and Three

All are welcome. Hope to see you there!

Our Educational/Informational meetings and peer support group are now in Room TWO. The general support group will be in Room THREE. Please check website for updates. Also, sometimes Mather needs to change the rooms at the last moment so please check at the front desk in the hospital. We apologize for any inconvenience and we remain grateful to Mather for providing the free space to us.

March 5th: Informational/Educational Program @ 7:30-9 pm ROOM TWO

Session I: Join us for a brief 5-10 minute session on NAMI NYS 2014 legislative advocacy.

We will provide you with advocacy agenda packets to give to your state elected officials and tips for successful advocacy. Have your voice heard!!

Session II: Join us for an evening with Tracy Puglisi, MHA of Suffolk's Wellness and Recovery Educator! Tracy will be presenting an overview of the Mental Health Association of Suffolk's offerings with a special emphasis on peer programs (people living with mental health conditions) Tracy will discuss Training to become a peer specialist; Educational programs such as anger management; Peer Advocacy opportunities, and Support groups for peers ( mood disorders, PTSD, Panic/Anxiety). March19th General Support Group @ 7:30 PM ROOM THREE- for all who are affected by mental illness-individuals, family members, significant others and friends.

March 3rd and 17th ( the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month) NAMI Connection Support Group
6:30-8 pm at Pollack Gardens SRO in West Sayville- For Concern Housing residents only. This is a peer facilitated support group.

Central Suffolk's East End Support Group location in Watermill at the Grace Church. Call affiliate Facilitator Gail 283-2380 for info.

NEW! We are delighted to share that NAMI of Central Suffolk and MHA of Suffolk have partnered together to sponsor the NAMI Basics Educational Course! NAMI Basics is the signature education program for parents and other caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illnesses or emotional or behavioral issues. The NAMI Basics course is taught by trained teachers who are the parent or other caregivers of individuals who developed the symptoms of mental illness during childhood or adolescence. Starts Saturday, March 8th 10-

12:30 pm for 6 consecutive sessions at the Mental Health Association of Suffolk Co.@ 2000
