Why You should join NAMI-Gwinnett

NAMI-Gwinnett is a nonprofit, grassroots, self-help, education, support and advocacy of consumers of MH services, families, professionals, and friends of persons with persistent neurobiological disorders.  Also known as brain disorders, they include personality disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

NAMI-Gwinnett Support Group Provides:

A place to confront fears.

A place for validation.

A place for friendship and networking.

A place to exchange information about mental illness.

Self-help and family support for persons with mental illness and their families and friends.

Education classes (Family-to-Family).

Information to communities regarding mental illness, available services and needed (Open Your Mind out reach program).

Advocacy for, encouragement and acceptance of persons with mental illness that includes help obtaining mental health services, housing and emergency needs.

Newsletters (Local affiliate quarterly, NAMI-Georgia and NAMI National quarterly publications).

Meetings are the every Tuesday at 7:30 at the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church.
