Anchorage Community Mental Health Services

For over 30 years, Anchorage Community Mental Health Services (ACMHS) [formerly Southcentral Counseling] has helped people in Anchorage and surrounding communities discover new beginnings in their lives.  Guided by professional experience, a focus on service, individual attention and deep commitment to the community, ACMHS has established itself as a leader in providing innovative quality lifestyle interventions through a full range of behavioral health services.

Good Samaritan Counseling Center & Associates

The Center provides counseling and medical psychiatric care for children, adolescents and adults.

Providence Alaska Medical Center

The state's largest hospital, Providence Alaska Medical Center provides full-service, comprehensive care to all Alaskans, a role unmatched by any other in the state.

Providence Crisis Recovery Center (PCRC)

Access through Providence Hospital only.

PCRC is a short term 24-hr crisis stabilization services for adults.  The service helps consumers manage severe symptoms in order to prevent unnecessary or frequent hospitalization.  The daily program has groups and most consumers stay for 5 to 7 days.  Adults in the community can be assessed for services by calling the Crisis Line at 563-3200 or by going to the psychiatric emergency room at Providence.  Adults age 18 and older who are currently hospitalized at the Alaska Psychiatric Institute can ask their doctor at API for assessment for step down to PCRC. 

Providence Behavioral Medicine Group

Providence Behavioral Medicine Group offers outpatient psychiatric care.  The staff includes psychiatrists, advance nurse practitioners, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists and psychologists.  Services are provided for adults, children, adolescents and families.

Providence Center for Neuro. Psyc. Services

 The Providence Center for Neuro. Psyc. Services has many services available to aid in treating a client's diagnosis.  The clinic staff at both Anchorage and Wasilla locations provides compassionate mental health services to children, adolescents and adults.  Assessment and treatment is available for a wide range of diagnoses.

Alaska Native Medical Center

Southcentral Foundation Mental Health Clinic

ANMC runs the Southcentral Foundation Mental Health Clinic.    Although primarily for Alaska Natives, Southcentral Foundation also has mental health services available for non-Natives.

North Star Behavioral Health System  (BEHAVIORAL HEALTH FOR CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS ONLY)

North Star is committed to providing easy access to a comprehensive range of behavioral health services for patients ages 4 through 17.

Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API)

In partnership with individuals, their families and the community and providers, API provides therapeutic services which assist individuals to achieve a personal level of satisfaction and success in their recovery.
