Through our Multicultural Action Programs, NAMI Howard County works to support individuals and increase public awareness of mental illness among diverse communities.

At NAMI Howard County we:

• promote culturally competent programs and practices;
• decrease stigma through public education that addresses specific cultural barriers;
• support NAMI grassroots multicultural advocacy and outreach efforts;
• develop strong partnerships with multicultural organizations; and 
• advance NAMI’s policy agenda and address issues that disproportionately affect diverse communities.
