Dear NAMI Los Angeles County
The updated version of the Arrested Guide has been completed and posted on the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department website. I encourage you to overwrite or delete your old file and replace with this updated version.
For the most part, the content has been updated to account for the detention of female inmates in Lynwood at CRDF and the new contact info for the DMH Family Advocate's Office (Thanks John for bugging me to get this done!).
The old information has now been updated for accuracy. Aside from a few minor rewrites, I will call your attention to the Public Defender section near the end of the document. This is the section that has been entirely rewritten. The Inmate Medication Information Form, which was updated some time ago, is included in this email as well.
I must acknowledge the assistance I received from Commander Detta Roberts and Deputy William Hong of the LASD, and Laura Greenand Marvin Isaacson of the Public Defenders Office. I thank them for their help in reworking this guide.
Best,
Mark Gale
