Thanks to all who walked on Oct. 1, 2011, Candler Park, Atlanta, GA. We had around 1,000 walkers. Donations to our team "Happy Feet" and to NAMI Georgia help pay for all our free education and support. The 2012 teams for our 2012 fall walk will begin forming in July; plan to join us. There will be 3 locations in Georgia this year--Atlanta, Waycross and Rome. The tentative 2012 Atlanta walk plans are Nov. at Turner Field. Firm date and location to be announced soon.

NAMIWalks is a national walk to raise awareness and funds for mental health. Walks around the U.S. are at various times and locations. Last year the annual Georgia NAMIWalks was Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Tribble Mill Park in Lawrenceville, Ga. Our teams were Happy Feet FDL and FDL Mountain Climbers. We give special thanks to all those "happy feet" and "mountain climbers" ages 3 to 66 who walked or contributed to this fundraising event and to Kids 'R' Kids for supporting NAMI GA and our affiliate in the walk. NAMI FDL was in the top 5 fundraising affiliates in Georgia. In 2008, over 800 people walked together in 2 Georgia locations to raise over $129,000 to support the NAMI mission. In 2009 the total in Georgia was over $181,000!
