Gifts through your Will or Living Trust
As a special friend of NAMI you may choose a bequest in your will or living trust as your ultimate charitable gift to help continue the programs you have been supporting over your lifetime. Y our will or trust document is an important part of an effective estate plan. It provides for a clear and specific understanding as to how you want to transfer your assets to those you love and to those charitable organizations that you have been committed to during your life. Some basic information you may find helpful is below.
Once you have named us in your will, please notify NAMI-Metropolitan Baltimore at www.namimetrobaltimore@yahoo.com or at 5210 York Rd, Baltimore, MD 21212. It will give us an opportunity to welcome you to the NAMI Leaving a Legacy Circle, a select group of NAMI supporters who are committed to ensuring NAMI's ability to serve generations to come.

Naming NAMI-Metropolitan Baltimore in Your Will
NAMI-Metropolitan Baltimore appreciates the generous gestures of its members who have expressed their faith in our mission and work through their bequests. For those wishing to make similar gifts, the options are many but sometimes seem daunting. A simple bequest or trust, however, is neither limited to the very wealthy nor is it complicated to implement.
Your will is an important part of an effective estate plan. It directs—clearly and specifically—how you want to transfer your assets to those you care about. It is important to consult an attorney when drafting your will. Every state has requirements only professionals are aware of.
Once you’ve determined that you would like to make a bequest to NAMI-metropolitan Baltimore, this sample charitable bequest language can be used in your will or revocable living trust:
An unrestricted bequest: “I give, and bequeath to NAMI-Metropolitan Baltimore, located at 5210 York Road-Rear Annex, Baltimore, Maryland 21212, the sum of $_____ or _______ percent or (real or personal property herein described) to be used for the general purpose of the organization, at the discretion of its Board of Directors.”
A restricted bequest (to support a particular program or area of interest to you): “I give, devise, and bequeath to NAMI-Metropolitan Baltimore, Inc., located at 5210 York Road-Rear Annex, Baltimore, Maryland 21212, the sum of $____ or ____ percent or (real or personal property herein described), to be used for the purpose of ______________________.”
A residuary bequest (which leaves any remaining assests from your estate after all other obligations have been met): “I give, devise, and bequeath to NAMI-Metropolitan Baltimore, Inc., located at 5210 York Road-Rear Annex, Baltimore, Maryland 21212, all the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real, and personal, of every kind of description, wherever situated and whether now owned or hereafter acquired, including any property with respect to which I may have power of appointment.”
