Our Lived  Experience

a journal of, from, and for the Mental Illness community,

published quarterly by NAMI Glendale.


We solicit your mental health and mental illness related submissions.  We accept short pieces and articles including  fiction, non-fiction, poetry, art, opinion, memoirs, book and movie reviews, and humor.  


Hard copies of the latest numbers and remaining back issue are available at NAMI Glendale support group meetings, classes, and events.  NAMIGlendale dues payers are entitled to one free copy of each issue at the time of publication.  


Back numbers are available as PDFs below.


  • Fall 2013, Vol. 1, No. 2 is now available in hard copy; the PDF edition is coming soon.

  • Winter 2013-14, Vol. 1, No. 3 is due for hardcopy publication in early December
