NAMI DKK - Programs and Activities
We provide multiple programs, which you are invited to join.
Our programs offer support groups for persons and families affected by mental illness, education for family members, school presentations, and trained speakers for community, university and professional groups.
We support other activities as well.
We issue monthly email newsletters, offer a handbook, sponsor monthly coffees, and host booths and tables at health fairs and conferences.
We advocate for better treatment of those with mental illness.
Our advocacy involvement centers on supporting the Kane County Treatment Alternative Court (TAC), the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for law enforcement officers, and the Kane County Mental Health Protocol that guides the response of law enforcement and local care givers to mentally ill individuals in crisis.
