NAMI Florida Education and Training 


The following is information on programs offered by NAMI Florida affiliates. The courses and support groups are free to all participants. If you are interested in attending any of these programs, please contact your local NAMI affiliate for dates and locations. Please note that not all of the programs are available at each affiliate.

Family-to-Family  is a twelve-week course for family and friends of individuals with mental illness, to assist them in care giving, coping and problem-solving.

Peer-to-Peer is a nine-week course for people with mental illness, to assist them in understanding brain disorders, symptom management, relapse prevention, coping skills, and advance directives.

NAMI Connections - A Peer Support Program is a program in which people with mental illness learn from each others’ experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement, understanding, and support.

NAMI Care Givers Support Group is a mutual support group for family and friends of people with mental illness.

Provider Education is an education program for mental health providers, which is co-taught by family members, consumers, and mental health professionals who are also family members or consumers.

In Our Own Voice: Living with Mental Illness is a 90 minute interactive, multi-media presentation by consumers, for consumers and others, about living with mental illness.
