LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY

CONTACT OUR LOCAL PRESIDENT OR LEGISLATIVE CHAIR BY CALLING OUR OFFICE

(626) 577-6697

ALERT, WITH PROP. 63 PASSAGE we need help to follow the progress of this once in a-life-time opportunity, please call our office to volunteer to study, act as watch dog, or do other duties to make P 63 most effective.

You can make a difference and get active by calling or writing your legislative representative (see the phone book) after you decide on an issue.  We have many issues and can educate you on them.  Please come to our monthly meeting to get information also.  But do not hesitate to do it on your own.  Ted, Steve, Terry or Jack can help if you ask for it on our voice mail too.

We are just starting a new idea.  Send us an e-mail with the subject being Legislative info request.  We will attempt to forward you our latest issues from Sacramento.  Please go to www.nami.org for national mental health legislative issues.  We also do letter writing on critical issues at the general meetings, and once or twice a year get a group together to visit our local representive at their district office.  We even go to Sacramento to advocate, usually in the spring of the year, it's a special nami CA day.  Hope this sparks an interest and you make a difference by action, any one of these actions.
