Mr. Coots and Ms. Johnson will present "My Loved One/Client Just Got Arrested- Now What?".

 

          Participants will have a better understanding of the Criminal Justice process from

          arrest to arraignment to incarceration to community integration.

Participants will learn of available resources to effectively advocate for their
client/loved one when they are arrested.

Participants will have a better understanding of how the mental health and criminal

justice systems work together to identify those individuals who may have mental health
needs and to offer available treatment, both during incarceration or in lieu
of incarceration.

Participants will have a better understanding of the mental health services provided
in jail and follow up services.

Participants will have a better understanding of the interface between the criminal
justice system and mental health system.

Participants will be able to experience a virtual tour of the Justice Center campus.
