Support Services

Peer Advocacy and Community Supports

NAMI Oregon is now offering Peer Advocacy and Community Supports (PACS) appointments for Multnomah county residents. Started by staff at NAMI of Washington County, PACS is a one-on-one resource referral service to help individuals living with mental illness access a wide range of resources. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please contact NAMI Oregon at 503-230-8009 or namioregon@namior.org.

Statewide Toll-free Mental Illness Helpline - 800-343-6264

NAMI Oregon maintains a toll-free information and referral Helpline for individuals living with mental illness and their family members. Our toll-free Helpline (800-343-6264) is answered by trained volunteers and staff who provide consumers and family members statewide with information on local mental health services; access to mental health providers; prescription assistance programs; housing, transportation, and other basic services; supportive peer counseling; family-centered and peer-delivered education programs; and consumer rights. We also connect callers with local NAMI affiliates and other organizations that can provide further local information.

Help ensure your fellow Oregonians take advantage of this service. Download and distribute a press release and information sheet on NAMI's programs and services.

Support Groups

NAMI Connection is a weekly recovery support group for people living with mental illness in which people learn from each others’ experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement and understanding. See the list of NAMI Connection Support Groups in Oregon to find a group near you.

Many NAMI affiliates operate other support groups as well. See a list of all NAMI Support Groups statewide for information on other groups. Contact the local NAMI Oregon affiliate to verify meeting times and locations before attending a support group meeting.
