Support Groups
New Local: Emotions Anonymous Support group
This support group is based on Twelve Step Organization, similar to Alcoholics Anonymous. Fellowship is composed of people who come together for a weekly meeting for the purpose of working toward recovery from emotional difficulties. This can include depression, anger, broken or strained relationships, grief, anxiety, low self-esteem, panic, abnormal fears, resentment, jealousy, guilt, despair, fatigue, tension, boredom, loneliness, withdrawal, obsessive and negative thinking, worry, compulsive behavior and a variety of emotional issues. Meetings begin on Thursday, 8/13/2009. Meetings are every Thursday, from 6-7:00 p.m. at 207 West Jefferson Street, #501 downtown Bloomington.

Family Basics Support Group:
Educational support and fellowship for parents,extended family members and care givers of children with mental illness. Meets 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. the third Saturday of each month at St. John's Lutheran Church at Emerson and Towanda in Bloomington, Illinois. Meetins are in room 210 (located on the back side of the church). Separate social activites including children.

Bloomington-Normal Depressive and Manic Depressive Support Group Meetings:
Meetings are held every first and third Wednesdays at First Methodist Church located at 211 School Street (back door) in Normal, Illinois . For info call 309-829-3899.
Central Illinois OCD Support Group
The Central Illinois ODC Support Group meets ar the Morton Public Library the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the library conference room. In honor of their second anniversary, they are having a special presentation on Wednesday February 25th by Chris Bruell, LCSW from the Anxiety and Mood Disorder Clinic of the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Illinois. Ms. Bruell will present information on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, including signs and symptoms, evidenced-based treatment and resources.
Celebrate Recovery Support Group
The Celebrate Recovery Support Group meets each Friday at Heartland Community Church. Heartland Community Church is located at 1811 North Linden in Normal, Illinois. The support group is for anyone recovering from an illness, chemical dependencies, etc. Their Friday evening schedule includes meeting 6-7 pm for fellowship, 7-8 pm regular meeting and 8-9 pm small groups.
