Advocacy Makes a Difference!

Advocacy Day 2014

Image

On February 5, 2014, NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore attended the annual mental health Advocacy Day in Annapolis.  Ten NAMI members and staff represented the Metro Baltimore affiliate in meetings with state legislators.  The NAMI Advocacy group was able to connect with state Delegates Jon Cardin, John Cluster, Dana Stein, and Dan Morhaim to share personal stories of being affected by mental illness and to advocate for reforms to public health policy.

Advocacy Day is held annually in Annapolis and serves as an opportunity for NAMI members to voice their concerns on mental health challenges to state lawmakers.
