Local Support Groups for Family Members
NAMI Thursday Night Support Group for Family Members
This NAMI local support group provides weekly opportunities for family members and friends to explore ideas and solutions to the problems they experience dealing with a mental illness in their families or friends. We receive support, guidance and encouragement from people with similar experiences.

The group meets every Thursday night at 7:00 to 8:30pm at the Live Oak Family Resource Center, 1740 17th Avenue, in Santa Cruz – see map. Drop-ins are welcome, or call your local NAMI at (831) 427-8020 for more information.
NAMI Third Tuesday Mid-County Support Group for Family Members
The format for the Mid-County Support Group is similar to the Thursday Night Support Group. The Mid-County Support Group meets the third Tuesday of every month, from 7pm to 9pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 6401 Freedom Blvd, close to highway 1 – see map. Everyone is welcome. NAMI Tuesday Night Bi-polar Support Group for Consumers and Family Members
A Christian-based support group for those coping with bipolar disorder or chronic depression, as well as families and friends of those coping with these mental illnesses. On the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 6:30pm to 8:15pm, in Room 21, 2nd floor of the worship center at Santa Cruz Bible Church, 440 Frederick St.Santa Cruz. Attention Deficit Disorder Support Group
This group is for anyone with ADHD or those who love someone with ADHD. Meeting times have changed for the summer. We will meet Mondays June 10, July 8 and August 12 at the Aptos Fire Station, 6934 Soquel Drive, Aptos next to Mar Vista Elementary School.

Parents with Hope
If you are a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, or friend of someone who is suffering from abuse of alcohol or other drugs, and/or mental health issues, Parents with Hope is for you. Parents with Hope is a place for you to share your experiences, find hope and strength, and find ways to become more functional and healthy. The group is registered with the national Al-Anon Family Groups and meets Sundays from 6:30 until 7:45 PM at the Inner Light Center, 5630 Soquel Drive, Soquel. For information: Rachel at 688.1792.

NEW – NAMI Peer Connections Support Group
Meets Wednesdays at 1:00-2:30 pm at the Mental Health Client Action Network, 1051 Cayuga St, Santa Cruz. This group is facilitated by two NAMI-trained peer consumers and is a comfortable and structured setting to receive and give support.

Mood Matters
Mood Matters is a weekly, drop-in, peer support discussion group for persons with depression or bipolar disorder. Family and friends are welcome. There are no dues or fees.
