Family to Family is a twelve-week course, taught once a year successively in Corvallis, Albany and Lebanon. It covers the treatment and management of mental illnesses. Designed for family members, but persons having mental illness who are stable may profitably take it. Call Dianne Farrell at 541-745-5070 or email: dianne.farrell@gmail.com for more information.

NAMI Basics Education Program
The fundamentals of caring for you, your family and your child with mental illness. NAMI Basics is the new signature education program for parents and other caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illnesses.  The NAMI Basics course is taught by trained teachers who are the parent or other caregivers of individuals who developed the symptoms of mental illness prior to the age of 13 years.

The course consists of six classes, each lasting for 2 ½ hours.   Classes may be offered weekly for six consecutive weeks, or may be offered twice per week for three weeks to accommodate the hectic schedules of parents.  All instruction materials are FREE to participants. Support Group meets twice monthly on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7pm at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Corvallis. Ask at the reception desk for room number.  Call NAMI Mid-Valley @ 541-745-2064 for more information. Educational programs are held on first Tuesdays, irregularly and can include just about any topic you want to learn about and/or speak out on.

Newsletter-Mid-Valley Advocate appearing bi-monthly, covers local persons and events, legislative and medical updates, issues for advocacy, and consumer contributions.

Community Events sponsored by NAMI include a picnic in July and a holiday dinner in December. These events embrace and connect the entire mental health community.

Outreach and Liaison includes representation on and networking with government agencies and representatives; funding, legislative and legal issues, task force, advisory boards and other groups.

Family to Family, Support Group and Educational Programs take place at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center (Corvallis).  Albany and Lebanon classes are held in their local hospitals.  For information call NAMI Mid-Valley @ 541-745-2064.
